FACE-TO-FACE ADVICE

Ever gone direct to a bank or building society?

The idea of eliminating the middleman seems appealing.

But wait! Let’s explore why everyone (well virtually everyone) should speak to a broker face-to-face.

1 DEFINITELY PAY A FEE

This may sound a bit strange to someone who wants something for free (that’s not you, is it!)

Thing is there’s no value in “free”. To really understand this, answer the question:

Would you use a free parachute?

The mortgage process can be a complicated one. Trying to do it yourself is rarely a good idea.

Your broker’s fee for specialist mortgage advice takes into account the time to tailor your mortgage to your unique situation….and your situation IS unique!

2 – A MORTGAGE BROKER IS QUALIFIED

Ever tried calling your bank and been stuck 19th in the queue, or popped in to find there’s no-one available to talk to you? This won’t happen with your mortgage broker – they’re qualified to give you mortgage advice and will be more than happy to meet you face-to-face.

You’ll have lots of questions that you can’t ask on an online form or on the phone to a call centre. When you meet your broker personally, you can ask him or her absolutely anything (though preferably related to mortgages!)

3 – YOUR BROKER IS ON YOUR SIDE

Unlike your bank or building society, your broker isn’t on the lender’s side, they’re on YOURS! They also have a duty of care to you. In other words – you’re in safe hands.

4 – THEY KNOW THE INDUSTRY INSIDE-OUT

Mortgage regulations have tightened massively over the past years. Your broker will take care of all of this. And, because they deal with lots of different lenders they will know which ones are best for YOUR particular situation. They will deal speedily with your application whilst keeping you in the loop at every stage.

5– IT’S A LONG TERM RELATIONSHIP

The best mortgage brokers have been helping their clients for many years, and they will come to know you well. You won’t need to worry about renewal dates or being on the best deal because your broker will be actively managing your mortgage to your benefit, no matter how your situation changes in the future.

6 – IT’S NOT JUST ABOUT THE MORTGAGE

If you’re married or have kids, you’ll want to make sure you and your family is protected, just in case the worst happens. It’s worth having a chat to your broker about what protection you need and what you are comfortable paying.

So there you have it. Six reasons why face-to-face advice is the best advice.
